This blog began as a journal of a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travel Award visit to the USA to study how Lifestyle Redesign could be used in Occupational Therapy to improve the hospital/home interface for older people. It has continued to record developments and inspiration gained from that experience since returning from Los Angeles early in 2012.

3 Reasons to follow this blog...

Be Inspired-
WCMT travel awards are open to all British citizens

Be Involved- learn about Lifestyle Redesign programs and contribute to the discussion about the potential of this approach.

Be Information Technology savvy- just learning how blogs work is a new skill for many of us!

World OT Day 27th October- Celebrating Our Global Identity

As a result of beginning this blog I am discovering more and more in the OT 'blogosphere'. It feels like there is a whole world going on out there that I wasn't aware of- quite appropriate for  blog about a travel award!
OT4OT (Online Technology 4 Occupational Therapy) will be running a 24 hour Virtual Exchange from 26th October. There is a great schedule- follow this link, it's global and it's free. Worth checking it out.
Also celebrating World OT Day is Linda Harrison's Blog Carnival.
Lots happening out there. I'm finding it very exciting that there are so many OTs getting connected all over the world and I hope I cam link into this as I prepare to travel to the USA in the New Year.

World OT Day blog carnival

In 2006 I was lucky enough to be able to attend the World Federation of OT conference in Sydney. I had never been to an OT conference before and it was inspiring. So I was pleased to read about Linda's plan for a 'blog carnival' to celebrate World OT Day later this month. It shows how it is possible to link up with others and read about their work in OT, all over the world and in all kinds of settings.
